Deloitte calls for more RNG production from public utilities

bp America's Cherry Point Refinery in Blaine in Washington State will receive a federal grant of $26,763,504 to build infrastructure and buy equipment to allow it to produce sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) for the first time, using renewable biomass feedstocks.

The production of biogas totalled 3,310 terajoules (TJ) in the last year, according to Statistics Finland.
Of this amount 2,940 TJ was consumed and the remaining 370 TJ (11%) was flared, reported Daily Finland.

Socogas has announced it will open its first plant for biomethane production.
The company has acquired a plant in Sorbolo-Mezzani in Italy, which already produces biogas, and will be converted into biomethane with a capacity of 400 cubic metres per hour and installed power of 1.7mW.

Nedgia, the Naturgy Group's gas distributor, has signed 45 contracts for connection to biomethane plants for the injection of renewable gas into its gas distribution network.

Ofgem has announced that Drax misreported data relating to biomass imported from Canada, and that the energy giant would pay £25 million to its voluntary redress fund, reported Reuters.
