Verbio North America announces site for RNG facility

Michigan-based biofuel producer and manufacturer Verbio North America (VNA) announced that it has moved the target site for its renewable natural gas (RNG) facility.

The 144-acre site is within the 3-mile zoning jurisdiction of the city of Wellington, Kansas. Currently, the zoning is for commercial development but is used for agricultural and an application for heavy industrial zoning is being handled by Wellington’s planning commission.

According to VNA, the first phase of the project will cause a positive economic benefit to the local community. It is expected during the first phase that 44 full time direct jobs will be at the plant directly and over 100 indirect jobs in the local supply and value chain.

Closing off the announcement, VNA outlined that the city of Wellington will cooperate with the firm to address any underlying issues and see the project to fruition.
