Ukraine plans seven more biomethane projects by end of the year
The announcement was made during an online event, where Heletukha detailed the upcoming projects across several regions of Ukraine.
The largest of these is the Teofipol Energy Company’s project in the Khmelnytskyi region, which is expected to produce 56mn cubic metres of biomethane annually.
Other significant projects include two initiatives by the MHP agricultural holding, with one in the Vinnytsia region and another in the Dnipropetrovsk region, producing 24 mcm and 11 mcm respectively.
Additional projects include: A Hals Agro project in the Chernihiv region (3 mcm); a Hals Agro project in the Kyiv region (3 mcm); a project by the Vitagro Group of Companies in the Khmelnytskyi region (3 mcm); a YUM Liquid Gas project in the Vinnytsia region (11 mcm).
These projects are part of a broader push to expand Ukraine’s bioenergy sector.
As of March 2024, Ukraine has 77 biogas plants with a combined capacity of up to 260 mcm per year.
