UK postpones publication of biomass plan once again
The UK government has once again delayed releasing a strategy to outline its vision for the role biomass will play in the country’s energy system, reported Bloomberg.
Climate change minister Graham Stuart said the UK's biomass strategy could be delayed for another three weeks - as late as 20 July.
It was first announced in November 2020 and was scheduled to be published at the end of 2022, until being postponed to the second quarter of this year.
It had widely been expected to be released this month (June).
The persistent delays come amidst concerns around energy independence, as well as increasing scrutiny as to sustainable practice surrounding biomass sourcing.
