TruAlt Bioenergy secures €42.9 million bioethanol order

India's TruAlt Bioenergy has secured a Rs 390-crore (€42.9 million) order from leading oil marketing companies (OMCs).
These include Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL), Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL), Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL), and Mangalore Refineries and Ports.
This order entails the supply of nearly six crore litres of 1G bioethanol over three months from August to October 2024.
TruAlt Bioenergy has secured almost 10% of the total allocated quantity.
With a total tender quantity of around 66 crore litres, TruAlt has bagged the supply for six crore litres.
TruAlt has an installed capacity of 14 lakh litres a day for 1G bioethanol, and 10,200 kg a day for compressed biogas (CBG) production.
It is in the process of expanding its 1G bioethanol capacity to 20 lakh litres/day, which will include dual feed integration for ethanol production from maize and damaged grains.
In addition, TruAlt aims to establish at least 24 CBG plants across the country, and is in a joint venture with GAIL to set up 10 CBG plants.
TruAlt Bioenergy is also planning to venture into the production of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), 2G Bioethanol, mevalonic acid (MVL), biodiesel, and other specialty chemicals, further diversifying its portfolio and contributing to the advancement of sustainable energy solutions in India.
