Bioenergy Insight speaks to Dr Nils Rottmann, managing director of BioEnergy Germany, about its recent entry into the Indian market and its “crown jewel” plant.
BioEnergy, a German company that provides technology and engineering design for biomass-based gas plants, recently entered the Indian market in partnership with a Noida-based start-up, Gruner Renewable Energy (GRE). A welcome and greetings ceremony was held in Nagpur, India, on 5 August, which invited partners, attendees, media representatives and guests.
Rottmann told Bioenergy Insight about the partnership, the challenges he anticipates and the benefits it will bring.
He began by explaining that BioEnergy Germany has a base in South East Asia located in Thailand. Here, the company has developed strong experience in dealing with local conditions, such as climate and feedstock, and the challenges they present. The company has been able to fine tune its technology and requirements as a result.
