Stallkamp, a specialist in tanks, pumps, agitators and separators in the biogas sector, has built its first continuously stirred tank reactors at a facility in northern Germany

An expert in classic stainless steel tank construction, Stallkamp has now progressed into the field of continuously stirred tank reactors (CSTRs), which are well-suited to industrial biogas plants.

Two CSTRs for production waste

A food manufacturer in northern Germany uses production waste in its own waste and sewage treatment plant to exploit the energetic waste in a biogas plant. This way, the company combines economic success with its ambitious environmental goals. Recently, the decision was made to expand the facility; the company opted in favour of two tall digesters made of high-quality stainless steel — designed, manufactured and assembled by Stallkamp in Dinklage, Germany.

Construction of the CSTRs

The two identical tanks have a diameter of 15m and a height of almost 20m, each with a capacity of 3,300m³. The construction of the stainless steel digesters was carried out in...
