Signed, €68m converting plant to 100% biomass
Albioma Le Moule has taken out a 19-year term loan for its southern Caribbean Albioma Caraïbes power plant, the total amount being 68 million euros.
The loan will facilitate new infrastructure and enable modifications to the power plant. The goal is to be operating with 100% biomass by 2020.
Monies financing the work will also be directed toward making the plant comply with the International Emissions Directive coming into force on 1 January 2020.
Once investments complete, the Group will be operating two thermal units in the Caribbean area functioning solely with biomass.
In September 2018, Albioma announced the industrial commissioning of its first overseas 100% bagasse/biomass power plant, Galion 2, located in Martinique.
