Scottish waste recycler NWH Group acquires waste management firm
NWH Group, which serves Scotland and Newcastle via 10 sites, turns the waste it collects into products such as cardboard, paper, biomass for energy, washed sands and animal bedding. The company last expanded when it acquired the waste wood division of Dundee-based DJ Laing Recycling Solutions.
The Armstrong Group operates in sectors including renewable energy, construction and property. The company was purchased by NWH for an undisclosed sum and will add a further 10% to the firm’s annual turnover. Armstrong Waste Management will be rebranded as NWH Group through a ‘managed process over a period of time’ and associated staff will be retained.
The rebranded Armstrong Waste Management will continue to operate from its site in Dumfries, Scotland, and provide skip hire, trade waste services and materials recycling to the south west and central Scotland and the north of England.
“In line with our strategy for growth through geographical expansion, we are delighted to announce our acquisition of Armstrong Waste Management. Armstrong’s growth has been driven by a passion for making things happen, and we share the same commitment to family values and a desire to deliver a positive difference to the world in which we live.”
