Redexis invests €5.5m in biomethane plant modernisation

Redexis Renovables has started work on the modernisation of its biomethane plant in Almazán in Spain.
Sources from the organisation have indicated that the work has entered the final phase, culminating this December, when biomethane will be produced at the plant, reported Herald0-Diario De Soria.
The biomethane will be injected into the municipality's gas network. The objective is to generate about 20 GWh/year of biomethane.
The source stated that, in recent months, progress has been made in the detailed engineering, selection and purchase phases of equipment."
A total of €5.5 million will be invested in the improvements to maximise biogas production.
The company has invested approximately €60 million in Castilla y León in the last 10 years in the deployment of gas infrastructures and operates more than 1,200 kilometres of gas transmission pipelines and distribution networks, being present in 167 municipalities of the autonomous community, giving access to piped gas to 190,000 citizens. industries and businesses and employing more than 110 people directly and indirectly," said the company .
In the firm's opinion: "The development of biomethane production is not only an important boost to a key decarbonisation vector in Spain, but will also promote the transformation of rural Spain, contributing to the economic recovery agenda and the fight against the demographic challenge, as well as substantially improving waste management in this environment".
