Plans unveiled for £3m AD plant in UK

Mickram, a UK-based renewable energy company, is considering an investment of £3 million (€4 million) to construct a 9GW anaerobic digestion (AD) plant.

Plans for the plant, which would be located in King’s Lynn, are set to be submitted to local authorities for consideration next year if the project moves forward.

Mickram is currently operating a wind turbine, but the AD plant would be the company’s first endeavour in bioenergy.

Michael Stollery, Mickram’s director, wants to stress that the plans are at a very early stage and may actually never become reality.

Should the plan be built, Stollery says he plans to use locally produced crops, such as straw or maize, to provide electricity for local companies.
