Moldova to introduce online biomass platform
It will allow all market participants - companies, public institutions and private interests - to publish and follow advertisements for the sale and purchase of products and services in the biomass energy sector.
State Secretary of the Ministry of Energy, Carolina Novac, said that renewable energy is not only photovoltaic panels, and biomass in Moldova can play a more significant role in the energy mix and can contribute to the target of 27% renewable energy in the final consumption of the energy sector.
Director of the National Center for Sustainable Energy Ion Muntean said: "The development of the biomass market is an important element in the energy transition process of the Republic of Moldova.
"Through this electronic platform dedicated to marketing solid biofuels in the Republic of Moldova, the opportunity to facilitate access to these environmentally friendly and sustainable resources is opened, thus contributing to the diversification of energy sources and reducing dependence on fossil fuels."
The online platform has been carried out with the financial support of the Government of Japan, under the project "Multidimensional response to emerging human security challenges", implemented by UNDP.
