Mark Rising appointed to health and safety post at ReEnergy
Mark Rising of Johnstown, New York, has been named health and safety manager at ReEnergy Holdings.
Rising has more than 30 years' experience in industrial health and safety management. Before joining ReEnergy, he worked most recently as a safety specialist at PSEG Bethlehem Energy Center. Prior to that, Rising was a programme safety manager supporting Antarctica mission locations for the 109th Airlift Wing of the Air National Guard, based at the Stratton Air National Guard Base in Scotia, New York. He also worked at General Electric, Foster Wheeler and Plug Power. His career began in the US Navy in the Navy Nuclear Propulsion programme.
Rising will implement health and safety policies, procedures and training activities for employees and contractors. ReEnergy's health and safety programme includes regular health and safety inspections, risk assessment and mitigation processes, a job safety analysis programme, a behavioural-based safety programme, quarterly safety improvement projects, and facility safety committees.

Rising earned a bachelor's degree in organisational management from Nyack College and a master's degree in occupational health and safety from Columbia Southern University.
