Less than one week to go before Biofuels International expo & conference opens in Antwerp!

Kyriakos Maniatis, Principal Administrator from DG Energy, part of the European Commission, will open the conference on the 16th of November by discussing the most recent developments in biofuels in Europe. Talking about advancements being made in aviation biofuel in particular, Maniatis’ presentation promises to be an insightful analysis of the European market as a whole.

Also on day one, director Sébastien Haye, Manager of Environmental affairs from the Roundtable on Sustainable Biofuels will discuss the newly announced certification systems and how they will help to create a more open market for biofuel trading.

On the 17th of November (day two), bioenergy analyst Anselm Eisentraut from the International Energy Agency will examine new feedstock sources for biofuels, how biofuel production can be more economical and what is needed from stakeholders to improve the manufacturing process.

Also discussing economic and financing, Antonio Matinez Dalmau’s presentation on behalf of major financing firm PricewaterhouseCoopers will look at the best ways to maximise biofuels assets so that they can achieve their highest potential.

Other topics to be discussed at the conference will include cellulosic ethanol advancements, isooctane development, trade within Europe, methanol production and biorefinery construction; as well as market overviews from regions including Germany and Eastern Europe.

The 2011 event will offer delegates the opportunity for a laboratory tour at a local SGS plant, which will be held on the 15th November.
