India’s Reliance Industries to invest $10bn in green hydrogen project

Reliance Industries has confirmed it intends to invest in renewable energy and green hydrogen in Tamil Nadu, India.
Chairman Mukesh Ambani made the announcement on 7 January, during an address at the Tamil Nadu Gloval Investors Meet-2024, reported The Economic Times.
"Reliance has made a commitment to invest in renewable energy and green hydrogen in Tamil Nadu. We will collaborate closely with the state government to promote sustainable development, a crucial step in combating the climate crisis and preserving our planet," he said.
Reliance Industries is investing $10 billion (€9.1 billion) in capital expenditures for the new energy project, and has tied up with original equipment manufacturers for the supply of green hydrogen.
