Everbright signs investment and cooperation agreement Lankao County in China

China Everbright International has signed a strategic investment and cooperation agreement with the People's Government of Lankao County in Henan Province to push renewable energy and environmental policies.

The agreement seeks to develop cooperation in the fields of environmental water, alternative energy, and environmentally friendly new materials, and promote all-round cooperation in integrated environmental management.

This extends the cooperation between the two parties after Everbright signed an investment cooperation framework agreement for environmental protection at an industrial park and a concession agreement for the Lankao Waste-to-energy Project with the Lankao government in October last year.

These agreement, Everbright says, will help propel the construction of the industrial park and enhance the county's overall strength in environmental management.

The two parties will seek further cooperation on a number of areas by leveraging different partnership models, based on the waste-to-energy project.

Chen Xiaoping, CEO of Everbright International, said: "The signing of the strategic investment and cooperation agreement marks another step towards Everbright's goal of providing one-stop comprehensive integrated environmental management services for Lankao County and showcases our commitment to developing the place into an environmental protection demonstration county which develops sustainably.

“Lankao County, located in the hinterland of the Central Plains, is an important part of the transportation network of Henan Province. Everbright International's projects in the county will set an example for the surrounding areas in terms of environmental management.”

According to Chen, the Lankao Waste-to-energy Project, invested and constructed by Everbright International, is making good progress.

With the “support and trust” of the Lankao government, Everbright intends to continue to build on the plant’s strengths in integrated environmental management to accelerate the planning and development of projects that meet high standards and have high efficiency.

“Our goal is for the projects to deliver economic and social benefits as soon as possible, and making a significant contribution to the environmental protection in Lankao County," Chen concluded.
