erex signs MOU for Vietnam biomass projects

erex has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to develop biomass projects and relationships in the Bao Thang District of Vietnam.
Last month, a signing ceremony took place between Erex and the Lào Cai Province at the Vietnam Tourism Investment Conference in Tokyo.
In Southeast Asian countries, erex said electric power demands are increasing due to economic growth, and energy imports are increasing. On the other hand, there is a need to enact decarbonisation measures.
Under these circumstances, erex is engaged in energy development projects, including the construction of biomass power plants in Vietnam, the development of biomass fuels in Vietnam and other Southeast Asian countries and fuel conversion by biomass co-firing at coal-fired power plants.
The company added that it will contribute to the realisation of low-cost, speedy decarbonisation practive whilst ensuring a stable supply of energy - taking into account the unique circumstances of Asian countries.
