Enertech to invest in new biogas business

Enertech Fuel Solutions, an Ahmedabad-based SME, is to invest Rs 600 crore in what it describes as "a new exploration" into the compressed biogas (CBG) industry.

The announcement was made on the sidelines of the inauguration of Enertech’s new office premises in the city by minister of state for energy, government of Gujarat, Mukesh Patel.

Badri Mahapatra, promoter of the firm, said: “The investment will be made next year for a pan-India presence in the CBG business. Given our extensive experience in the natural gas business, a move into the CBG business is a natural extension. We plan to establish 10 CBG plants in a year."

“In the first phase, we will establish four CBG plants in Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Haryana. In the second phase, we will invest one more plant in each of these states, while adding two more plants in Madhya Pradesh,” added Mahapatra.
