On November 20-21, the bioenergy community will convene at BluePoint Brussels for the European Bioenergy Future (EBF) conference, a cornerstone event in the renewable energy sector organised by Bioenergy Europe.
The 2024 edition arrives at a pivotal time, just months after June’s European elections, which set the stage for a new wave of policymakers who will steer Europe’s energy and climate strategies for the coming years.
This year’s conference also comes in the wake of the European Commission's newly proposed 2040 climate target, which aims for a 90% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions — a significant step towards achieving net-zero emissions by mid-century. It will be up to the new European Commission to put forward concrete proposals to make this vision a reality.
EBF 2024 will fulfil its promise as a key platform where policy meets the market and offer the opportunity to debate, shape and potentially redirect the future of Europe's primary renewable energy source — bioenergy.
