BiofuelCircle scales up biomass infrastructure in India
The company has built eight new warehouses - four in Mauda and four in Bhandara - the company aims to aggregate 40,000 metric tonnes (MT) of paddy straw this season.
Equipped with advanced machinery like balers ands lashers, these warehouses streamline the collection and processing of agricultural residue.
This initiative is expected to generate new income opportunities for farmers while addressing environmental concerns like stubble burning.
As part of its outreach, BiofuelCircle launched the Mujbi Biomass Bank near Mauda, which is strongly supported by the local administration. Over 100 farmers attended an event showcasing live demonstrations of agri-waste baling, sparking significant interest in sustainable practices.
The Biomass Bank offers farmers a secure and transparent platform to sell their paddy straw, helping them earn additional income while contributing to environmental sustainability.
BiofuelCircle leverages GPS, telematics, and digitally integrated machines to create an efficient biomass supply chain, it said. It plans to launch 50 Biomass Banks across India this year, including 10 in Maharashtra. Each bank is expected to serve over 2,000 farmers, creating new income opportunities for local entrepreneurs and tractor owners.
Through these efforts, BiofuelCircle envisions a circular economy where agricultural waste is transformed into biofuels and other valuable products.
This initiative not only addresses stubble burning but also boosts rural economic growth, making sustainability and profitability go hand in hand.
