Agrokor to build biogas plant with EBRD loan

In Gradec, Croatia, Agrokor is looking to build a biogas plant after receiving a €5 million loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

The €5 million loan will be used to buy and install the plant and purchase the necessary equipment.

Slated for completion by September 2012, the plant will convert organic waste into biogas, which will be used to generate 1MW of electricity.

Agrokor is looking to build a number of renewable energy projects in the future, with a total capacity of 30MW.
