Torben Brabo

Torben Brabo is SVP on International Relations in Energinet Group, the Danish national transmission system operator for electricity and gas – which is an independent public enterprise owned by the Danish state under the Ministry of Climate, Utilities and Energy. He has more than 25 years of experience in the energy and gas sector in Denmark/Europe and globally. Part of that as CEO for more than 10 years for the Gas TSO and Gas Storage Denmark (GSD). Prior to joining Energinet, he took part in several European power and gas projects working for the European Commission or World Bank, etc. Torben Brabo is highly involved in Danish and European renewable and low-carbon gas projects, sector coupling for electricity-gas and storing of energy. Besides of being GIE’s President (Gas Infrastructure Europe), he is engaged as Board member in ENTSOG (European Network of Transmission System Operators for Gas) and the European gas capacity trading platform PRISMA and promoting ERGAR. Moreover, he participates in several decarbonisation projects, such as Gas for Climate (GfC) and the European Hydrogen Backbone (EHB). He has held a position as chairman of the board of the Danish-Swedish gas exchange ‘Gaspoint Nordic’, Asset Management Denmark, and more.
